Sea Tourism

Dozens of beaches with diverse landscapes attract thousands of visitors in the summer months and each year many blue European flags demonstrate the purity of the sea.

The beaches of the region together with the beautiful and lonely Samothraki offer a whole range of activities such as water sports (windsurfing etc.), fishing, under water fishing as well as the opportunity to take part in folk festivals by the sea (sardine festival etc.).

On continental Thrace and the beaches facing Samothraki, the area from Alexandroupolis to the village of Makri attracts many lovers of the seaside and of good fish, which is served in the local restaurants.
